Context

Yodlee was one of the first FinTech startups. It originally provided personal financial management (PFM) tools for integration into large bank apps and a bank account aggregation services. It later expanded to selling their APIs to companies that built stand-alone fintech apps after the initial success of Mint.com. In a push to improve the aesthetics and usability of their PFM tools, I was hired as a visual designer. Sense was a concept app that showcased Yodlee’s tools in order to sell the features to large retail bank and investment companies.

First-time user experience

I designed the final first time user experience based on extensive user testing. The final result was something friendly and exciting that clearly explained to users how their financial information is being used.

Landing screens

A personalized view was then created based on a customer's financial situation. A screen with a simple balance and news feed was the primary screen as most users just wanted a quick snapshot. Additional graphs and calendars were added for those who wanted to go more in-depth.

Results

We built a mobile app that was used to demo Yodlee's latest technology at an innovation conference in order to get more customers. More info here.
