Context
As part of the release of the Cloudera Data Platform, I collaborated with UX Designers, Product Management, UI Engineering, Brand, and Creative Directors to design the first phase of our updated product visual design language.
Unified navigation
The first step was to provide a quick way to tie all the product areas together via a common navigation and product icons.
Fluid X Design System
Cloudera and Hortonworks had also merged, so I led the efforts to merge our design system both visually and interaction-wise. This resulted in both an internal design system, as well as a visual update to the existing open-source system for Apache products.
Product icon explorations
The system also included some initial explorations for product icons that were then shown to Brand and Creative as inspiration for different approaches to take.
Results
The updated system and language allowed us to unify our post-merger product portfolio and align with a product rebrand.
